MIKESELL, GEORGE W. - Pleasant Hill--George W. Mikesell died at Lightsville on June 14 of a complication of diseases.  He was born at Pleasant Hill February 23, 1847, and was the son of William H. and Mary Mikesell.  He was one of a family of eight children, being the eldest and also the last to pass away.  The deaths of the others occurred as follows: the father, in 1892 at the age of 70; mother, 1901, age 74; Sarah Elizabeth, 1885, age 36; Susan, 1904, age 54; Jacob D., 1896, age 45; William, Jr., 1898, age 40; Masie, 1889, age 29; John, 1902; age 50; Emma, at the age of 1 1/2 years.  All were born and reared here except the father who was born in Pennsylvania and all are buried in the family plot at Pleasant Hill cemetery except the last named.  George W. Mikesell was a member of the Brethren church.  The funeral was held Thursday at the home of Mrs. Sarah Martindale and was conducted by the Revs. Kerr and Frantz.  It was very largely attended.  Interment at Pleasant Hill cemetery.
