LEATHLEY, GEORGE - St. Paris--The death angel knocked at the door on Wednesday morning and Mr. George Leathley stepped through the gates into the land from whence no traveler returns.  His health had been failing for many months and he suffered greatly during the latter weeks of his life.  Mr. Leathley was born in England on March 8, 1838, making him about 74 years of age.  He emigrated to America when he was but eleven years of age.  He was first married to Sarah Rust to which union was born five children, four of whom survive.  They are Ira Leathley, of Jackson township; Clyde Leathley, of Troy; Mrs. Ella Overhulser and Mrs. Lilly Lambert, of Springfield, Ohio.  He was married again to Mary Kelley about 32 years ago.  With the exception of 6 years they spent their entire married life on the farm where he died.  A brother, Brice Leathley, and three sisters survive together with the devoted wife, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also remain.  Funeral services were held Friday at 11 o'clock in the Newson Chapel church and interment was made in the cemetery at that place.  Rev. Trout of Springfield will preach the service.
