HARBAUGH, GABRIEL - Gabriel Harbaugh died at the home of his adopted daughter, Mrs. Anna Roser, on South Mulberry Street, Saturday morning.  The decreased was in his 87h year at the time of his death.  He was born in Somerset County, Penn., and in his early boyhood came to Ohio with his parents.  Married to Rachel Hance in 1841, he purchased and occupied a farm in Perry County.  During the excitement attendant upon speculation in coal lands in that region he sold his farm for a handsome price and then purchased the James Hart place of 140 acres near the old Sheets mill, in 1873, to which he removed in the spring of that year.  Until a few years ago, he tilled his farm and was known in the neighborhood as a most worthy and popular citizen, and ranked high as a successful and intelligent farmer.  He moved to Troy four years ago.  No children ever blessed the union of Mr. and Mrs. Harbaugh, but their kindly natures led them to rear six orphaned ones who found a good home with the childless couple.  The deceased was a faithful member of the Methodist Church and was generous in his contributions to its support.  The funeral was held at the Casstown Church, Monday afternoon, and the remains buried in the cemetery there beside those of his wife who died fifteen years ago.
