FERGUSON, REV. FRANK - Services for the Rev. J. Frank Ferguson, 84, retired pastor of the First United Methodist Church, New Carlisle, were conducted March 14 at 3 p.m. at the church by the Rev. Kenneth Galdeen.  Burial was in New Carlisle Cemetery.  Rev. Ferguson, who retired in 1980, died March 10 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton,  He entered the ministry in 1943 and came to the New Carlisle church in 1970.  He had served on the Commission of Town and Country and the Membership Commission of the Ohio Conference.  He was named Rural Minister of the Year in 1957.  He was instrumental in the formation of Bethel Churches United  He is survived by his wife, Helen D. (Carrico) Ferguson; four daughters, Mrs. William Cook (Irmalee) of Prescott, Ariz., Mrs Robert Printz (Annalee) of Arcanum, Mrs. Robert Kugler (Sandra) of Haddonfield, N.J. and Mrs. Phillip Flora (Donna) of Springfield; a son, Donald Ferguson of Huber Heights; 16 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a sister, Carol Avis of Richmond, Va. and a number of nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph V. and Garnett Marie (Simms) Ferguson; a daughter, Joyce Petty; a sister, Reba Turner; and two brothers, Sims and Joseph V. Ferguson.  Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.  Funeral arrangements were completed by the Trostel, Chapman & Christmas Funeral Home, New Carlisle.
