Miami Union

COVAULT, FRANCIS ELIZABETH - Brush--Francis Elizabeth Covault died at her home in north Brown township, Miami county, on Thursday afternoon, August 17, aged 72 years, 1 month, 16 days.  She was the daughter of Christopher and Mary Swank, and was born in Mercer county on July 1, 1839.  She was united in marriage to Erastus Covault on October 19, 1860, and last October they celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary.  To this union were born nine children seven of whom are living--four sons and three daughters. They are Mrs. Ollie Howell and Elmer Covault of Brown township, Frank Covault of near Sidney, Mrs. Maggie Caven and Clifford Covault of Green township, Shelby county, Mrs. Addie Anderson of Champaign county and Charles S. Covault of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Besides these children she leaves her husband, twenty grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one sister and four brothers and a host of relatives and friends.  She united with the Springcreek Christian church 52 years ago and remained a member until death removed her.  The funeral services were held at the Baptist church in Fletcher on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. and were conducted by the Rev. L. W. Ryan of Rockford.  Interment in Fletcher cemetery.
