Miami Union
June 27, 1912
WORTHINGTON, FRANCES A. -
Frances A. Slack, daughter of Berkley and Deborah Slack, was born Jan. 19, 1843,
and departed this life at her late home in Conover, June 21, 1912, at the age of
69 years, five months and two days. She was married Feb. 9, 1864, to
Joseph M. Moore, who died June 16, 1889. To this union was born one son
and one daughter, who are both living. She was again married Feb. 27, 1893
to Silas A. Worthington, who died July 29, 1911, being a little less than one
year ago. She united with the Charity Chapel Christian church in her early
married life, but removed her membership to the Lena Baptist church, where she
held her membership for a number of years previous to her death. She has
lived a quiet devoted christian life all of these years. She was a
faithful wife, a loving mother and a kind and helping neighbor. She leaves
to mourn their loss one son, one daughter, two grandsons, one brother, three
sisters and a host of friends. One brother, two sisters, the father and
mother have preceded her from this life. The funeral was held Sunday
afternoon at 2 o'clock at her late home, conducted by Rev. G. L. Winters, pastor
of the Pemberton Baptist church. Interment in Fletcher cemetery.
Dearest
mother we shall miss thee,
While
we journey here below;
But
in heaven we hope to meet thee,
When
from earth we're called to go.
Card of Thanks - We desire
to express our sincere thanks to all who assisted us in any way during the
sickness and death of our beloved mother.
