ULLERY, EVA B. - Pleasant
Hill--Eva B. Ullery died Oct. 22, at Memorial hospital in Piqua, death resulting
from Bright's disease. She was born Sept 21, 1862 at West Charleston and
was the daughter of John and Mary Pittenger. March 12, 1891, she was
united in marriage with John Ullery. She is survived by two sisters and
two brothers, one of the brothers, John, being a missionary. The funeral
was held at the Church of the Brethren Wednesday, Oct. 5. and was conducted by
Rev. George Mohler of Circle Hill and Rev. Isaac Frantz of this place.
Interment at the Sugar Grove cemetery. Mrs. Ullery was a member of the
Church of the Brethren since she was 13 years old and was a true, loyal and
faithful member. She was noted for kind acts to the sick or distressed.
She always took them beautiful flowers or cards and did many other acts of
kindness, yet she was able to care for a helpless husband and attend to other
duties of life. Most of her married life was spent on a farm one mile east
of Covington. It was their sad experience over one year ago to come home
one evening and find their home, furniture and clothing in ashes. Since
then their home has been here. For the last ten years Mr. Ullery was such
a cripple as not even to be able to feed himself and was utterly dependent on
her tender care. Thus Pleasant Hill loses another good citizen.
