HECKER, ETHEL - Covington--Ethel Hecker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Hecker, two miles east of town, died Thursday morning at 8:30 of scarlet fever.  Miss Hecker was a pupil of No. 10 school which has been closed for several weeks on account of an epidemic of scarlet fever in that section of the county.  A number of the children have been victims of this dread disease, but so far, all have recovered but Miss Hecker.  The deceased was fourteen years old.  The funeral was held Monday afternoon at the home of her parents and interment was made in Highland cemetery.  Mr. and Mrs. Hecker have the sympathy of a large number of relatives and friends who have been debarred from rendering assistance on account of the character of the disease.
