HOLLIS, EDMUND C. - Christiansburg--Edmund C. Hollis, a prominent business man of this place, died at his home here August 20, of organic heart trouble of several year's duration.  He was born Oct. 16, 1840, at Piqua and was the son of Benoni and Lydia Hollis.  In 1865 he was married to Emily J. Overton, who, with two sons, Herman and Anson R, survive him.  The funeral services were held at the residence Aug. 22 and were conducted by Rev. J. R. Hunter.  Interment at the mausoleum in Riverside cemetery, Troy.  Mr. Hollis was highly regarded as a man of honor and integrity and served his fellow citizens well as township trustee, president of the cemetery association and in other places of honor and trust.  He was a member of the G. A. R. Post and of the K. of P. lodge.  His death is a loss to the community.
