Mrs. Cora May Wise, 67, Wife of Joseph M., Dies
Mrs. Cora May Wise, 67, wife of Joseph M. Wise, 627 Park, died at 1 p.m. Friday at Piqua Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient since suffering a hip fracture one week ago. Born in Houston, July 26, 1895, she was the daughter of Nicholas and Lilly Stoker Barr. She graduated from Houston High School and was married, Sept. 16, 1914 at Houston to Guy E. Foster, who died Sept. 1, 1929. Her marriage to Joseph M. Wise took place at Dayton Aug. 3, 1932. In 1930, they came to Piqua where she was a member of the Church of the Brethren and Home Arts Club of the YWCA. She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Everett Petry (Lorene) and Mrs. Dennis Rasor (Jane), both of Piqua; two stepsons, Joseph F. Wise of Phoenix, Ariz., and James Wise of Peoria, Ill.; a brother, Charles N. Barr of River Forest, Ill., and 11 grandchildren. A brother and sister died in infancy. The Rev. Vermon Powell will conduct services at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the J. C. Cron Sons Chapel with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 12 noon to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m.
