February 8, 1912

GOLDEN, CHARLES EDWARD - Charles Edward Golden was born in Addison, Ohio on the second of August 1857.  His death occurred at Pleasant Hill on the twenty-third of January 1912.  His span of life, covering a little more than fifty-five years, during which time he won for himself the title of "Everybody's friend."  His patient, cheerful disposition and kindliness of heart opened the way for him into the hearts of all those whom he met.  The early part of his life was active in business; but for some years he has been under the hand of disease.  In the month of September he came to the home of his sister, Mrs. N. B. Teeter, at Pleasant Hill, where he has since made his home, in the hope of recovering his health.  But he grew gradually weaker until the final end came.  He was a member of the Methodist church of Mt. Gilead, Ohio, but the funeral services were conducted at the home of his sister here, by Rev. Alva M. Kerr, and the interment was in the Pleasant Hill cemetery.  A sister and other relatives from a distance were in attendance.
