HOLLOPETER, BENJAMIN -
Covington--Friday afternoon the funeral obsequies of the late Benjamin
Hollopeter, an aged and respected resident of this city, was held in the
Christian church. The deceased was born in Pennsylvania seventy-nine years
ago, and when a boy came to Ohio. During the Civil war he was a member of
Company G, 110th O. V. I. and for several years had been a sufferer caused by
hardships during the war. For several months he was seriously ill at his
home on North Pearl street. Mr. Hollopeter was an industrious citizen and
was respected by all who knew him. In this demise the members of the
family to revere his memory are the wife, two daughters, Mrs. Rebecca Burns, of
Piqua, and Mrs. Mary Sweighart, of Osborn, O., and two sons, Elmer Hollopeter,
of Knox, Ind., and George Hollopeter, of this city. The service was
conducted by Rev. G. A. Connibear and the body was followed by the friends and
members of the G. A. R. to the Highland cemetery, where it was laid to rest.
