WALTERMIRE,
BEECHER W. - Pneumonia, resulting from a cold
contracted a week previous, resulted in the death Saturday night of Beecher W.
Waltermire, aged 74, prominent Columbus attorney, widely known Republican
politician and father of Claude C. Waltermire, former Troy man. Mr.
Waltermire was born in Sedalia, Mo., but orphaned at an early age, was brought
to Ohio. He long resided in Findlay, which city he served as mayor and
where he later engaged in the practice of law until 1915 when he was appointee
chairman of the public utilities commission by the then Governor Frank B. Willis
and removed to Columbus. During the time his son, Claude was editor and
publisher of the Troy Daily Record, which he later re-named The Times, the elder
Waltermire often visited in Troy. He is survived by one other son and a
daughter, all being residents of Columbus.
