HOOVER, ANDREW J. - Andrew J. Hoover, son of Daniel and Sarah Hoover, was born at Union, August 9, 1828 a member of a family of ten children, seven sons and three daughters, of whom four sons and one daughter were born blind, remainder enjoying the blessing of sight.  He was united in marriage July 21, 1850 to Charlotte Gable, daughter of Philip and Catherine Gable, who emigrated to this country in _____.  To this union were born five children, three sons and two daughters, namely, Sarah Ann, now Mrs. M. L. Bowman, and Frank, of Pendleton, Ore., Flora B., now Mrs. P. N. Hardman of Enon, O., Enos and Esta of Englewood, O. who survive him.  The deceased united with the M. E. church of this place shortly after his marriage and lived from that time on as exemplary Christian life, worthy of imitation.  His fifty-five years of married life was ended November 16, 1905, by the death of the noble companion.  He was widely known throughout the country from the reputation of the great musical talent of the Hoover brothers.  On November 18, 1911, he departed this life at the home of his son in Englewood, O., aged 83 years, 3 months, and 9 days, leaving to mourn their loss five children, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
