LONG, ALEXANDER - Casstown--Alexander Long, one of the oldest citizens of Casstown, died at his residence in that village Jan. 1st, aged 80 years.  He was the son of William Long and spent his whole life in Lostcreek township.  For many years he pursued the trade of carpenter and only gave it up on the approach of physical infirmities.  He held numerous township and village offices and was identified with several business enterprises.  Of his immediate family he leaves a daughter, Alice, his wife having died years ago.  He also leaves one brother John D. of Casstown and the following sisters--Mrs. Eck of Washington, Mrs. M. R. Wilgus, Mrs. B. F. Proctor, Mrs. David Smith, Misses Minnie and Rachel Long of Casstown, and Mrs. Merritt of Troy.  The funeral took place at the family residence on Thursday, a large concourse of people being present to pay the last tribute of respect to a venerable citizen.
