PLEASANT HILL - Mary Esther Jackson, 87, of Pleasant Hill, went to be
with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, in the Claire Bridge Nursing Center. She
was born Sept.15, 1922, in Pleasant Hill, to Forest and Stacy (Jay) Noll. She
was preceded in death by her sister, Glenna Alspaugh-Whitmer.
Surviving her is her loving husband of 67 years, Warren H. Jackson; son and
daughter-in-law, Cecil and Cordy Jackson of Pleasant Hill; daughters and
sons-in-law, Bonita and Donald Jenkins, Pleasant Hill, and Vinnie and Dan
Williams of Troy; grandchildren Tony and Lynee Jackson, Tab and Sandra Jackson,
Tiffany and Pat McBride, Tina and James Mollette, Jennifer and Giovani Quinones,
Benjamin and Cassie Jenkins, Wendy Jenkins, Eric and Vanessa Williams, Amy and
Scott Euton, Lora and Don Bauer, Jared and Angela Williams; 25
great-grandchildren; and brother, Marion and his wife Mary Noll of New Lebanon.
Mary Esther worked as a beautician in her home for many years after graduating
from Newton High School. She was an active member of the Troy Baptist Temple
where she taught Sunday school for more than 40 years. She was involved with the
American Legion Women's Auxilliary in Pleasant Hill. She loved her cats and
enjoyed working in her garden, spending time painting and writing poetry. Her
greatest joy came from playing with her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, at Jackson-Sarver
Funeral Home, 1 S. Main St, Pleasant Hill. Pastor David Mulvaine and Pastor Dan
Williams will officiate, with interment following at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
