GRADY, RICHARD - Tipp City - Richard Grady, 76, Tipp City, was a lifelong citizen of Tipp City. Dick graduated from THS in 1951, and played on one of Tipp's all-time best football teams. Dick was a proud veteran, having served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War. Until his retirement in 1998, he spent most of his career at the A. O. Smith Corp. in Tipp City. Dick will be greatly missed by his wife of 51 years, Barbara (Manson) also a native of Tipp City. Among many other friends and family who will miss him dearly are his loving daughter Jodi, and her husband, James Hudgins, both of Augusta, Ga.; and his mother, Margaret Grady of Tipp City. His two grandchildren, Kyle Knab and Molly Ricktenwald and her husband, Gary, will miss their Grandpa. He also will be missed by close family friend David Lightie and his family. For the past several years, Dick was widely recognized in the community for his untiring dedication to caring for his wife and his elderly mother. Dick loved the game of golf and was an avid fan of the Masters Tournament. Perhaps best known for his easygoing nature, Dick always accentuated the positive, even during his two-year battle with cancer. He passed peacefully on the early afternoon of Thursday, Nov. 5. Dick was a member of the Tipp City United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post 586 and the Masonic Lodge. A visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, at Frings & Bayliff Funeral Home in Tipp City. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, at the United Methodist Church on Main Street in Tipp City. Contributions can be made to Hospice of Miami County or The Tipp City United Methodist Church.
