WRIGHT, MIKE - Troy - Mike Wright, 64, of Troy, died at 8:54 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at his residence following a brief illness. He was born Sept. 19, 1945, in Troy, to the late Harold I. and Lola F. (Shuff) Wright. He is survived by his soul mate, Sandy Haworth of Troy, brother, Jack L. Wright of Greenville; sisters Shirley J. Payne of Safety Harbor, Fla., and Connie Gillespie of Ocala, Fla.; and sister-in-law, Mable M. Wright of Piqua. He was Papa to Bridgette Ruff and Shawn Haworth, and great-papa to Josephine and Bella Ruff. Mike also is survived by other loving family, Jerry and Monica Haworth of Germantown and Touana L. Reed of Covington; six nieces and nephews, 16 great-nieces and nephews and two great-great-nephews. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by three brothers, Lloyd E., Bill L., and James E. Wright; and two sons, Harold M. and Terry L. Wright. He received his certificate from Hobart Welding. Mike was a disabled U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, where he received a Purple Heart and numerous accommodations and campaigns. He was a member of the Troy VFW, AMVETS, Troy Moose Lodge and the Troy Eagles. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at Baird Funeral home, Troy, with Darrell Ruff officiating. Interment will follow at Miami Memorial Park, Covington, with military honors at the graveside. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
