VanPELT, CALEB MICHAEL - Wilmington - Caleb Michael VanPelt, 9, of Wilmington, died at 7:57 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at his residence. Caleb was born Aug. 11, 2000, in Newport News, Va., the son of Jerry and Rebecca Hardwick VanPelt. Caleb was a third grader at Clinton Massie Elementary and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Wilmington. He enjoyed horses and had been active in AWANA, Cub Scouts and youth soccer. In addition to his parents, Caleb is survived by his three sisters, Callianna VanPelt, 10, Johanna VanPelt, 4, and Samantha VanPelt, 16 months; his grandparents, Dave and Sharon Hardwick of Wilmington and Rex and Glenda VanPelt of Ashville, Ala.; his great-grandparents, Nadine MacNaughton of Wilmington, Helen VanPelt of Ashville, Ala., and Vera Galbreath of Springville, Ala.; and his aunts and uncle, Ben and Dana VanPelt of Springville, Ala., Lindy and Butch Alverson of Ragland, Ala., Stephanie and Mark Stokes of Wilmington, James and Elizabeth Hardwick of Baltimore, Md., and Christina VanPelt of Ashville, Ala. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009 at Calvary Baptist Church, 1920 State Route 22 West, Wilmington, with Pastor Dennis Humphreys officiating. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Corwin. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at Calvary Baptist Church.
