HEFFNER, BETTY J. - Betty J. Heffner, 88, of Tipp City, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009 at Miami Valley Hospital. She was born July 17, 1921 in Phoneton, to Russell and Ruth (Evans) Detrick. A graduate of Osborne High School, was a very active member of the Tipp City United Methodist Church, and belonged to the Methodist Women's Circle, a 60 year member of the Tipp City Order of Eastern Star. She married in 1940 to Charles Maurice Heffner who preceded her in death in 1991. Also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers Billie, Hugh, Byron, and Dale Detrick; two sisters, June Booher and Mildred Senseman. Betty is survived by her sons, Dennis and Lynne Heffner and Jack Heffner, both of Tipp City; four grandchildren, Jason and Gina Heffner, Douglas Heffner, Amanda and Jason Mangano, and Jessica and Eric Rupnow; four great-grandchildren, Kyle, Alex, William, and Faith Heffner. Services were held Nov. 23 at the Tipp City United Methodist Church. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the church memorial fund in memory of Betty.
