REDFEARN, TAYEBA T. - Troy - Tayeba T. Redfearn, 73, of 321 Garfield Ave., Troy, Ohio, passed away at 7:30 a.m. Friday, May 1, 2009, at Hospice of Dayton.  She was born April 6, 1936, in Troy, Ohio, to the late William J. and Betty J. (Battle) Clay.  Tayeba married William E. Redfearn on June 4, 1986, and he survives.  Other survivors include her two sons, Bashir Yaqub (Brandi) of Piqua and Fazil Umar Yaqub of Piqua; 10 grandchildren; four brothers, William D. Clay (Amy) of Okinawa, Japan, Dwight B. Clay (Barbara) of Troy, Thomas Clarke (Barbara) of Piqua, and Gary Battle (Phyllis) of Troy; seven sisters, Teresa Byers (Frayser) of Charlotte, N. C., Marjorie Pirtie (Bishop Roy) of Huber Heights, Sheena Harris (James) of Troy, Gerri Belcher (Charles) of Troy, Elizabeth Brown of Rosharon, Texas, Nadine Washington (Robert) of Troy and Jeanne Atkins of Troy.  Tayeba is also survived by several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Tayeba was preceded in death by her brother, Anthony Clarke.  Tayeba had been employed by the St. Joseph Treatment Center for Children, Dayton, where she worked with physically and sexually abused children.  She was a licensed therapeutic foster parent to many children from the Miami Valley.  Tayeba was an author and a poet, with various articles on emotional disorders of abused children published in the West Central Ohio Treatment Care Journal and several other magazines.  She was inducted to the International Poetry Hall of Fame in 1998, where many of her poems are listed.  As a devoted mother, Tayeba's goal in life was to love and care for others and assist the less fortunate, especially children, of our society.  Her family and friends are in agreement that her goal was a successful endeavor.  She was a member of the Victory Deliverance Pentecostal Church in Troy.  There will be a funeral service at noon Friday, May 8, 2009, at Redemption Gospel Ministries, 111 E. Canal Str., Troy, with Pastor Clarence Stafford officiating.  The visitation will take place on Friday two hours prior to the start of service, from 10 a.m. to noon.  Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Troy.  Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.  Memorial contributions may be made to The Children's Medical Center of Dayton for CARE House Child Advocacy Center, 1 Children's Plaza, Dayton, Ohio, 45404.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.fisher-cheneyfuneralhome.com
