OSBORNE, ROBERT LEE - Funeral services were held on Friday at the Trostel-Chapman Funeral Home in New Carlisle for Robert Lee Osborne, 58, 9465 State Route 202 at Phoneton. The Reverend James Baughman was the clergyman for the final rites, and burial was in Forest Hills near Vandalia. Mr. Osborne was born on June 13, 1914 in Melvin, Kentucky. He was employed as a coal miner and construction worker all his life. He had been in failing health for some time and was in Stouder Hospital for one week prior to being transferred to Good Samaritan Hospital on December 26 where he died on January 2. Survivors include his wife, Minnie; sons, Bobbie of Phoneton, Lowell, Sun Ray, Texas, Victor, Medway, and Ronnie Clay Osborne of Fairborn; daughters, Mr. Shurl (Joan) Shrewberry, St. Clair Shores, Michigan, Mrs. J. D. (Shirlene) Whitt, Barberton, Mrs. Phyllis J. Brown, Tipp City, mother, Mrs. Anna O. Stone, Phoneton, brothers, Will of Weeksbury, Ky., Fred, Columbus, David Stuart, Fla., and John of Miamitown; sisters, Mrs. Lola Hall, Wayland, Ky., Mrs. Draxie Holbrook, Harrodsburg, Ky., and Mrs. Rebecca Shephard, Medway; and 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth, in February, 1972.
