MERLIN H. JAY - Merlin H. Jay, 82, of 7965 W. Horseshoe Bend Rd., Ludlow Falls, died Friday morning at his residence.  Surviving is his wife Thelma; two sons, Lloyd of Farmington, Mich., and Don of Ludlow Falls; two daughters, Mrs. Lester (Bernice) Fryman of Medway and Mrs. Otis (Ruth) Jackson of Troy; two step sons, J. B. Compton of Laura and Barry Compton of Potsdam; 17 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

A retired farmer and building contractor, he was a member of the Ludlow Falls Friends Church.  Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Roy H. Miller Funeral Home in West Milton.  The Rev. Rachel Osborne will officiate.  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Covington.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 3-8 p.m. Sunday.
