DON JAY - Don Jay, 79, 9680 W. Fenner Road, Ludlow Falls, died Thursday in Stouder Memorial Hospital following a sudden illness.

Surviving are his wife, Katherine Conn Jay; step-mother, Thelma Jay of West Milton; a daughter, Mrs. Arnold (Betty) Elliott of Tennessee; two sisters, Mrs. Lester (Bernice) Fryman of Florida and Mrs. Otis (Ruth) Jackson of Troy; one grandson and two step grandchildren.

Mr. Jay was retired from Hobart Brothers and formerly was Miami County Housing Inspector.  He was a member of the Pleasant Hill American Legion and was a World War II Air Force veteran.

Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Jackson Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, with the Rev. Beth Sullenberger Merphew officiating.  Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
