CIVIL WAR VETERAN NATIVE OF TROY, DIES
Delaware, O. - March 26 - UP
Isaiah Wilson, 99, said to have been the last Ohio survivor of union naval service in the Civil War, died here last night. He was the country's last Civil War veteran.
Wilson was born in a log cabin east of Troy, O. Nov. 22, 1845. He joined the navy when he was 18 and served aboard the gunboat "Curlew".
Recalling that he voted for Abraham Lincoln in 1864, he told friends he was able to vote at 18 because a superior officer liked him and gave him a ballot.
