- In Burlington, Kansas, on Christmas morning, after an illness of two days, of
scarlet fever, William Clifford, son of
W. O. and Mary F. Martin, aged one year, ten months and fifteen days.
We hear no more his childish prattle,
As he lisped something new each day,
Too pure for Earth but ripe for Heaven,
Our darling passed away.
