CUNNINGHAM, LAURA ADELIA (NEE Marshall) - In Memorium - Laura Adelia, daughter of Edward and Julia Marshall, was born at Casstown, Miami Co., Ohio, August 17, 1842.  She united with the Presbyterian Church at Lima, O., at the age of eighteen years.  She entered the Female Seminary at Oxford, Ohio, in 1861, graduating in the class of 1865; was married to J. N. Cunningham at Lansing, Mich., May 1st, 1866, and died at Philo, Champaign Co., Ill., March 24, 1879, aged 36 years, 7 months and 7 days.  At the time of her departure she was an active and devoted member of the Philo Presbyterian Church.  She endured her illness with much patience, being completely reconciled to her condition and, nearing the river, expressed the greatest confidence in Jesus, and the brightest hope of meeting Him on the shores of eternal deliverance.  In her death, the husband and three children have lost an affectionate and exemplary wife and mother; the parents, brothers and sister an amiable and gentle member of the home circle.  In the church and community her loss will be deeply felt, and her unselfish and useful life not soon forgotten.  The relatives have the sympathy of an extensive circle of friends.  The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. W. H. Orr, from Matt. 17-3.  Philo, Ill., March 16, 1879     W. H. O.
