ROUZER, DANIEL
- We regret to hear of the death, by drowning, of one of Dayton's best printers,
last Monday--Mr. Daniel Rouzer. Mr. Rouzer was about a middle-aged man,
but had become considerably dissipated. On the introduction of Murphyism
he became a member, and, being a bright, intelligent man, soon became one of the
most active workers and speakers in the Miami Valley. Being very zealous
and a good talker he soon acquired quite a reputation, and for a time did little
else than go about speaking at meetings in Montgomery and adjoining counties.
It seems now, however--a fact we had not before known--that he had two or three
times relapsed into his old habits, but each time had re-signed the pledge.
A week or so before the sad occurrence he again got on a spree, and was still
indulging up to the fatal day.
