WINANS, JAMES - At his residence in San Rafael, California, Tuesday morning, Sept. 3d, 1878, James Winans, in the 69th year of his age. He was born in Miami County, near Troy, May 28th, 1810, where he lived until he was 26 years old. In early life he embraced religion and joined the M. E. Church. His life was quiet and unobtrusive; had many warm friends wherever he lived. A devoted husband, a kind father, and a loved brother has passed away. We mourn our loss. J. C.
