HOUSER, MAUD -The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Lon C. Houser will be pained to hear of the affliction, which befell them last Saturday in the death of their five year old daughter, Maud, which was caused by diphtheria. She was a bright sweet little jewel, and was idolized by her parents. She was buried Monday afternoon.

HOUSER, MAUDIE -In Memory of Little Maud - Maudie Houser, who
departed this life February 3rd, 1878, was one of the gems of earth, and there
is not a gem left upon the earth half so bright (to the parents) as was
Maud--she being the only daughter, the only child, and in their great
bereavement they have our deepest sympathy. We have a disposition to rejoice
with those who do rejoice, and weep with those who weep. "This is weeping". But
we rejoice that Maudie has gone where sickness, sorrow, pain and death can never
enter. That little prattle is hushed, the little hands are folded, the seat in
her class is vacant, and little Maud is gone.
