MITCHELL, JOSEPH M. - At the residence of his son near Troy, on Friday
the 5th inst., Joseph M. Mitchell, in the 76th year of his age. Mr.
Mitchell was reared from childhood in this county--his father having been one of
the earliest settlers in the vicinity of Piqua. He was a brother of the
late Judge M. G. Mitchell, and a man of sterling qualities of both head and
heart as we know from a life-long intimate acquaintance with him--having known
him ever since we were old enough to form the acquaintance of any one.
His funeral took place on Sunday last--a large concourse of friends and
acquaintances attending his remains to their last resting place in Forest Hill
Cemetery, near Piqua.
