McMILLAN, CAPT. S. P. - In Callao, Macon Co., Missouri, March 16th, 1876, of paralysis, Capt. S. P. McMillan, aged 56 years, 5 months. Capt. McMillan was born in Troy, Nov. 16th, 1819. He served in the war of the rebellion, first as a Lieutenant in the 71st O. V. I., and subsequently was promoted to a Captaincy and service in the 61st O. V. I. He removed with his family to Neponset, Ill., in the fall of '68, where he resided for seven years, and then moved to Callao, Mo., where he resided at the time of his death. He leaves a wife and five children. The remains of Capt McMillan were brought to Troy for interment, and the funeral took place from the depot, and Elder A. L. McKinney conducted services at the cemetery.
