CARLETON, MRS. OLIVE M. - Obituary - Mrs. Olive M. Carleton
departed this life at the residence of her son-in-law, Jesse Shilling, in Troy,
Ohio, Feb. 1, 1875, in the 86th year of her age. Mother Carleton was born
in the State of New Hampshire in the year 1780, and on the day of her death had
been married just sixty-five years to her husband Edmund Carleton, who died
about two years ago. They emigrated to the State of Michigan about forty
years ago, and came to Ohio about 1871. Her last illness was of short
duration, and her death was most peaceful. She leaves six children, with
many grandchildren and other relatives to mourn her loss, but all are confident
that their loss is her gain. The days of our years are three score years
and ten, and if by reason of strength they be four
"She sleeps in Jesus, blessed sleep,
From which none ever wakes to weep."
"And if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so
them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him."
