WEYBRIGHT, DANIEL - Mr. Dan'l Weybright, an old and highly respected citizen of Union township, in this county, and a Dunker preacher of considerable prominence, committed suicide last Sunday by cutting his throat with a large knife.  He was a farmer in good circumstances and free from debt.  For some days previous the family had observed some slight peculiarities in his conduct, which caused them to fear that he was not exactly right in mind, but we are not aware that they apprehended any serious consequences.  On Sunday morning he started out for a walk over his farm, and not returning at the time expected the family became alarmed and commenced a search for him, but it was not until next morning that he was found.  He had selected one of the most secluded spots on his premises--a clump of high weeds and bushes--where he had completely butchered himself--having cut gashes in both of his wrists and both sides of his neck, almost severing his head from his body.  Mr. Weybright was a man of intelligence, unexceptional moral and religious character, strict in the performance of every duty, and of remarkable social and talkative habits, entirely free, apparently, from all those qualities of mind that lead to suicide.  Hence the great surprise that he should have committed the deed.
