RONEY, CAPT. JOHN - An old citizen of Troy and a prominent member and officer in the immortal Eleventh Ohio Regiment during the late war, died, at his residence here on Saturday afternoon last. Mr. R's health had never been very good since he came out of the Army, but most of the time he had been able to attend to business. His last illness--that, which closed his earthly career--was of only a few days' duration. The funeral of Mr. R. took place on Wednesday afternoon and was very largely attended. Three public Orders participated in the ceremonies--the Odd Fellows, the Military, and the Firemen--he having been an active and honorable member of them all. The resolutions adopted by two of these Orders will be found in another part of this paper.
