McCURDY,
MRS. SARAH SCOTT - In Troy, on the 22d inst., Mrs. Sarah Scott McCurdy, in the
27th year of her age. She was the daughter of Mr. John Scott, who for many
years was a ruling Elder in the Presbyterian Church. She was a loving and
noble woman. A large circle of brothers and sisters most tenderly mourn
for her. And the deep solemnity of the large congregation, who gathered in
the Presbyterian Church, at Troy, to attend her funeral, indicated that she was
known and loved by the community. Calmly and peacefully she responded to
the call of Jesus, her Lord. Casting all into her Savior's hands, she had
no fear of death. Most happily, for a little more than one year, had she
been united in marriage with John McCurdy. It was a sad scene when those
united hearts were torn asunder. But we will hope that by the grace of
God, through Jesus Christ, they may yet meet to spend an eternity together in
the Paradise above.
