LEFEVRE, CHRISTIAN SR.
- The last respects to the body of
Christian LeFevre, Sr., were paid on Tuesday, the 28th inst. He was
eighty-five years of age, being one of the earliest settlers in the county.
For fifty-one years he had been a member of the Presbyterian Church of Troy,
Ohio, and for forty years an elder in the same body. He had lived as a
married man sixty-four years at the homestead where he died, respected by
all, and loved by those who knew him intimately. We can pay no greater
tribute to the memory of the deceased than by saying he was a Christian man
in his devotions and in his acts. He was a true, noble man, both as a
husband and father.
Dropping down the troubled river
To the tranquil, tranquil shore,
Where the sweet light shineth ever,
And the sun goes down no more.
