MILLER, JOSEPH - On Wednesday afternoon, the 13th inst., Mr. Joseph Miller, aged 44 years, of Typhoid Fever. The funeral will take place tomorrow (Friday) morning; services at the Catholic Church.

MILLER, JOSEPH - In Memoriam - Joseph Miller was born in Baden, Germany, and came to this country in 1848, when he was about 22 years old. He Settled in Dayton for a few years, but seeing a good chance for business in this place, he came here in 1853 and opened the Exchange Hotel, better known as "Miller's Hotel". Strictly honest, straightforward, sociable and good natured, he speedily secured a good business and made many friends among both Germans and Americans. It was the general remark when his death was announced that "Tippecanoe has lost a good citizen". His funeral was attended by many friends from a distance who came to attest their respect for the memory of a worthy man. He died July 13th, 1870, in the 44th year of his age.
