WELLS, DANIEL D. - After a long and painful affliction, Daniel D. Wells, died at 6 o'clock on Sunday morning, September 25th, 1870, aged 37 years, 7 months and 24 days. He was returning to his home in this place from the Hot Springs, where he had gone a few weeks since with the hope of obtaining relief. All efforts were unavailing, and he was hastening home to die, accompanied by his faithful wife, when the great destroyer overtook him while on the railroad from Memphis to Louisville. The body was brought home, and on Tuesday afternoon was followed to its last resting place by a large concourse of relatives and friends. The deceased was one of our friends long ago, and in all the lapse of years we found him faithful and true. After his many and severe bodily afflictions we trust he rests well.
