WOLCOTT, JOHN H. - John H. Wolcott, an old citizen of Brown Township, Miami County, died Dec. 19th, 1868, of heart disease in the eighty-third year of his age. He moved to this County in an early day, when the northern part was almost a wilderness,--improved his farm, and raised his family. Officially he acted as Justice of the Peace, County Commissioner, and County Surveyor, was an orderly member of the Baptist Church, extremely kind to this brethren, and very cautious in speaking of faults of others. He was a good neighbor, affectionate husband, and a pleasant father. He leaves an aged widow, one daughter, four sons, several grand and great grand children, to mourn his loss. But they mourn not as those who have no hope, for certainly he died the death of the righteous. W. J. W.
