Manning R. Riddle, an old soldier and long time resident, is gone. He was born in Hamilton county, April 28, 1823. He was twice married. His first wife, Lyda Stilwell, died 40 year ago. His second wife, Lydia M. Young, died seven years ago, since which time Mr. riddle has lived with his children, whose devotion and care have comforted their father during his helplessness and suffering of the past four months. All of his nine children – seven daughters and two sons – were present ast the funeral, which was held from the home of his daughter, Mr. Catherine Sims, Sunday afternoon, March 8. Interment at Rose Hill, Troy.
