Cedar Hill Cemetery Piqua, Ohio Cedar Hill Cemetery is located on the north side of Scot Dr. (old U.S. 36). It sits on approximately one-half acre in Spring- Creek Township, south section 25, Miami County, Piqua, Ohio. According to W.H. Beers 1880 Miami County history, the cemetery at one time was called Cedar Grove Cemetery. I find nothing else that suggests this, or if and when the name was changed. The current Trustees and several old newspaper articles state that the cemetery and congregation were organized March 7, 1858 and incorporated January 30, 1875. This cemetery of Jewish faith has been very well kept. This cemetery has several once prominent Piqua families including the congregations first president, Moses Friedlich, and his wife, Emma. Other past presidents from the congregation buried here are Meyer and Rafael Louis, and Joe and Irving Kastner. The Temple Anshe Emeth is located at 320 Caldwell Street Piqua, Ohio. It was built in 1922 and dedicated on April 2, 1923. As with anything that deals with history, it is often hard to get exact names and dates. We have, to the best of our ability, transferred as complete a list of names and dates as possible. Here is a list of 114 names. There are two stones that could not be read.
