    Martin Rodenheber, b. 11 Oct. 1809 in Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany; d. 21 Dec. 1888 in Bethel Twp., Miami Co., OH; m. Susanna Apple in Germany. His death record appears in Book 2, page 331 of Miami County Death Records.

    Susanna, b. 7 Feb. 1805 in Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany; d. 5 May 1889 in Bethel Twp., Miami Co., OH. Her death record appears in Book 2, page 331 of Miami County Death Records.

    According to Martin Rodenheber's "Declaration of Intent" to become an American Citizen, they arrived in the United States in August of 1833. Their daughter, Mary McIntyre Rodenheber was born in Chambersburg, Franklin Co., PA. With their daughter, they crossed the Allegany Mountains in a covered wagon in 1844. They took a steamboat to Pomeroy, Meigs Co., OH. They moved to Piqua, Miami Co., OH about 1859. Susanna (Apple) Rodenheber purchased lot 68 on Wayne Street in Piqua, Miami Co., OH from George and Nancy Schnee for $350 on 3 Jan 1862 (Deed Book 37, page 135).

    Martin Rodenheber filed a "Declaration of Intent" to become an American citizen on 14 Dec. 1868 in Miami County, OH. He became a naturalized citizen of the United States in Miami County, OH on 2 Jan. 1871 (case #04971, Probate Court Book #1). The Rodenhebers appeared in the U.S. Census for Piqua, Miami County, OH in 1880. Martin Rodenheber was listed as a day laborer at that time. According to his death certificate, Martin Rodenheber was a miller. According to her death certificate, Susanna was a baker.

    Issue:

    Mary McIntyre Rodenheber, b. 1 Apr. 1844 in Chambersburg, Franklin Co., PA. She married William Denham Snyder on 1 Feb. 1867 in Miami County, OH. In March of 1939, she was living at Timeus Home at 35 Baltimore Street in Dayton, OH. She died at the home of her daughter, Lillie (Snyder) Fessler, at 211 Third Street in Piqua, Miami Co., OH on 15 Sept. 1940.
