    FRED HUBER

Fred Huber, butcher, Tippecanoe City; one of the oldest businessmen in Tippecanoe; was born in Switzerland in 1830, and is the son of John and Anna (Suter) Huber, the former a miller by trade, which he learned from his father; he died when our subject was quite young. The subject of this memoir is the only child of the family, and emigrated to America in 1853, landing, after a voyage of sixty-eight days, at Quebec, Canada, thence to Cleveland, and thence to Dayton, Ohio, where he worked two years; he finally came to Tippecanoe, where he has since been engaged in the butchering business; his shop is the oldest established in the place, and wholly reliable; his long experience in and careful attention to his business commands the patronage of the public (see his card in directory). He married Elizabeth Rupp, of Switzerland, in 1857; they have two daughters.
