J. B. DEETER

    J. B. Deeter, farmer; P. O. Pleasant Hill; was born on his present place in 1854, and is the son of John S. Deeter, who was born in Preble Co., Ohio, in 1813; he was a son of David Deeter. John S. was a farmer by occupation, and at different times owned and operated the Sugar Grove Grist-Mill. He was married in 1831 or 1832 to Sarah Reed, born in Virgina in June, 1812. Of their family of four sons and three daughters, two sons have died; one, David, lost his life in the United States service .at Murfreesboro, Tenn., in 1862 he was a member of the 94th O.V.I. Isaac died in October 1867. John S. died in 1872, a faithful member of the German Baptist Church. He located on Section 7, about 1835. J. B. is the youngest of the family, and has devoted his life to farming; his early education was limited to the common school his energy and industry, directed by his skill, has made his career as a farmer a success; he finds his religious creed in the German Baptist Church, of which he and his wife are consistent members, and in which he has held the offlqe of Deacon since he was 22 years old. He was married in October, 1873, to Angie Younce, of Union Township; she was born in November, 1854, and is the daughter of Larkin Younce. A son and daughter have been the issue of this union.
