Mary Williams of Conover, daughter of Frank and Isabell Williams, on November 6, 1938 was gathering coal that had spilled from cars on the Pennsylvania right-of-way; a fast freight was going east; she waited until it cleared where she started to the south side of the track toward home' she was suddenly hit by a fast west bound freight killing her instantly; her body and clothing were torn to pieces; parts were picked up far to the west of then village of Conover by Wm. Suber, undertaker at Fletcher, Buried at Fletcher.
