FEIRSTINE, PHYLLIS E. - Phyllis E. Feirstine, 86, of
Springfield died Sunday, January 24, 2010. She was born on Nov. 10, 1923,
daughter of Ethel Gruber. Phyllis was a long time member of the West Side
Christian Church. She loved singing at church, weddings, and many other
special events. She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years,
Charles Feirstine (2004); her mother, Ethel; and three sisters, Alice
Grabill, Doris Fritts, and Jean Parsell. She is survived by two sons and
daughter-in-law, Richard and Kathleen Feirstine and Charles Feirstine Jr.;
daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Darrel Dick; sister, Mary Snyder;
grandchildren, Kelly Feirstine, Richard Feirstine Jr., Dean Anthony Dick,
Shawn and Cindy Feirstine, Trent Feirstine, Chad and Emily Feirstine, and
Bret Feirstine; one great-granddaughter, Isabella Kay Semmier-Dick; three
sisters-in-law, Marianna Byers, Bonita Feirstine, and Doris Hoover, and
numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A celebration of Phyllis's
life was held Thursday, Jan. 28 with Pastor Costy Saba officiating. Burial
was in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made in
