CRIPE, DAVID A. - David A. Cripe, 58, of Middletown, died
Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at Atrium Medical Center. He was born Sept. 7,
1951 in Dayton to Harvey W. and Dolores T. (Gebhart) Cripe. He was a
graduate of Milton Union High School and is a member of their Hall of Fame.
He was a teacher and coach for 35 years, retiring in 2008 from Butler Tech.
He was past defensive coordinator at Trenton-Edgewood High School and head
football coach at Madison High School, McPherson College in McPherson, Kan.,
and Piqua High School. David is survived by his parents; his wife, Ruth
Anne (Singleton) Cripe; sons, Luke and Danielle Cripe, Blake and Lauren
Cripe, Clarke Cripe; step daughters, Ashleigh and Josh Childers, Mandy
Kimberly; grandchildren, Blake Childers, Connor Davis, Caleb Cripe, Drew
Dressler and granddaughter to be born in August, Elizabeth Cripe. He was
preceded in death by his brother, John Cripe and sister, Sylvana Furlong.
Funeral services were held June 16 at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home,
Middletown, with Rev. Herman Emmert officiating. Interment followed at
Unity Cemetery in Laura. Memorial donations may be made to Edgewood
