CECIL, ROLAND E. - Roland E. Cecil, age 75, of Troy, Ohio, died December 31st at his residence. Roland was born on February 16, 1933 in Pleasant Hill, Ohio to Harry Forrest and Pauline L. (Petersime) Cecil. Roland retired from Goodrich in Troy.  He was a member of the Ginghamsburg Church, former board member of Partners in Hope, and CASA/GAL of Miami County. He was a mentor at the David L. Brown Youth Center in Troy. Surviving are his wife Beverly Ann (Harshbarger) Cecil; sons James E. "Skip" Cecil, Centre, Alabama; Terry L. Cecil, Fletcher, Ohio; brother Harry L. Cecil, Conover, Ohio; sisters Barbara A. Rich, Phoenix, Arizona and Janet L. Plank, Burlington, North Carolina; six grandchildren, three great grandchildren and his favorite buddy, "Sammy".  Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 5th, at the South Campus of Ginghamsburg Church, Tipp City. Pastor John Jung officiated, with burial in Riverside Cemetery, West Milton. Visitation was 4-7 p.m. Sunday at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME, 327 West Main Street, Tipp City, OH 45371 and one hour prior to the service at the church. Contributions may be made to the David L. Brown Youth Center or Hospice of Miami County in Roland's memory.
