WERTZ, RAY G. - Ray G. Wertz, 98, formerly of Potsdam, died March 23, 2009 at Brookhaven Nursing Home. He was born Feb. 11, 1911 to John and Nellie Wertz. He formerly worked as a salesman for the Bordon Co. and retired from Brown's Nursery. He was a member of the Potsdam Missionary Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, seven sisters and a half sister. He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Gladys (Peffley) Wertz; son an daughter-in-law, Robert and Kaye Wertz of Chicago, Ill.; and sister, Faye Dubbs of Altoona, Pa. Funeral services were held March 26 at Hale-Sarver Funeral Home, West Milton, with Pastor Jeff Martin and Pastor Robert Kurtz officiating. Interment followed at Royal Oak Cemetery, Brookville. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
